Thoracic 6: Stomach
A subluxation of the sixth thoracic vertebra can interfere with stomach function. Impaired function here can cause acid problems or make the stomach more prone to infection such as the helicobacter pylori which causes stomach ulcers. Dr. Warren, one of the pathologists who discovered the h. pylori-ulcer connection, ingested a brew of the bacteria himself in one experiment. He did develop gastritis, but soon recovered without treatment.
Dr Warren's spontaneous recovery points to the fact that in order for infection to take hold the physical terrain must allow the organism to grow. You might say, the tissues must already be "sick" to some degree in order to become infected. If the tissues are healthy then the likelihood of infection is very small. Once the bacteria has infected the stomach (easily determined by blood test) then an aggressive program of antibiotic treatment seems to be the only cure. One should look to their overall health in addition to simply eliminated the infectious agent. There is a saying in chiropractic, "the roaches don't cause the garbage." Simply eliminating the "roaches" of the body - viruses, bacteria and other pathogens - doesn't change the terrain which allowed them to infect in the first place.
Dr. Greenwood has seen many patients with stomach and digestive problems resolve completely with appropriate spinal corrections coupled with specific nutritional support. Our national dependence on antacids speaks to the fact that our collective neurological and nutritional health is in great need of care.
Nutritional

| Multizyme | Multi-digestive enzyme supplement for protein digestion (protease), carbohydrate digestion (amylase) and fat digestion (lipase). |
| Pro-EPA or Pro-DHA (Nordic Naturals™) | To help control inflammation and support healthy cell metabolism. |
